13th August 2015 - The new Student Case Manager module from Membership Solutions Ltd (MSL) is proving popular with students’ unions who run advice centres to support their student members. The new facility – developed with case management experts, Iizuka Software – is designed specifically to manage the diverse welfare issues faced by many students in tertiary education and to streamline the workload of their advisors.
MSL has added Student Case Manager to its modular membership management system to answer the demand for a simple-to-use platform that removes the need for paperwork and manual processes in busy student advice centres. Student Case Manager allows advisors to quickly log and track issues around welfare, funding, debt, benefits, disability, visas, accommodation, health and well-being and provides comprehensive reporting tools for managers to monitor activity, trends and workflow.
Unions who have already made the move to Student Case Manager include Keele University Students' Union, Anglia Ruskin Students' Union, Christ Church Students' Union and the Students' Association of the University of the West of Scotland.
Starting with the robust Case Manager solution from Iizuka, Student Case Manager can work as a standalone solution or be integrated with existing data feeds. It provides a set of tools ready to use from day one either in the advice centre environment or an informal ‘virtual’ advisor network. However, bespoke requirements based on email and text messaging templates, data capture fields, terminology, services provided and report delivery are easy to set up and create a tailored platform for each students’ union.
David Devlin, Membership Development Manager at the Students' Association University of the West of Scotland (SAUWS), commented: “SAUWS wanted a case management system that was functional, affordable and linked into our existing student data. From researching other systems out there, generally we could only get two out of the three conditions to be met. The MSL Case Manager was the only one that gave us everything that we needed.”
Colin Watson, CEO of Membership Solutions Ltd, added “Student Case Manager is an important addition to the MSL offering as it allows students’ unions to provide truly holistic support to their members. It has already proven to be a popular choice for a number of our students’ union clients and we look forward to working with more in the months to come as their advice centres become a focus of activity in the new academic year.”
